With leprechauns, fairy tales and talking animals, the next play to be put on by the Town Hall Players, “Blather, Blarney and Balderdash,” utilizes unique characters to showcase a bizarre twist the play has on typical folk tales.
Running April 21 through 23 at Heritage Elementary, the tickets for “Blather, Blarney and Balderdash” are $8 and can be bought at the door each night. The curtains open Friday, April 21 at a 7 p.m. Saturday, April 22, there is a matinée at 2 p.m. and an evening showing at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 23 a 2 p.m. performance.

“It’s important to see the play because seeing it supports the community,” Ethan Jones sophomore said, “especially in this small of a community.”

Jones plays one of the main characters, Fin, who is learning to tell a story to win the over his true love.

With all of the long hours the students put into memorizing lines, when to make an entrance and what facial expression to make during practices, with all the time practicing and getting everything right the show is suitable for everyone ranging from four to 90 years of age.

Pioneer Drama Service calls “Blather, Blarney, and Balderdash” an “uplifting…ensemble comedy” that “combines clever dialogue with slapstick humor.”

“It’s a funny, entertaining play,” eighth grader Kaitlyn Miller said, “I think people would enjoy it.”
