Almost 15 percent of women and four percent of men have been injured as a result of intimate partner violence that included rape, stalking and/or physical violence. Only 33 percent of teens who had a violent relationship told anyone about it. The long-lasting effects include a higher risk for substance abuse, eating disorders, risky sexual behavior and further domestic violence.
