“I was only 16 at the time, so that’s also why it was scary. The thing I learned about myself was to probably just take one day at a time. Everyone goes through something stressful, so what I learned there was coping strategies on how to handle stressful situations or triggering situations. Especially with school and everyone that’s annoying and stuff. I think it’s helped me because it has opened my eyes. When I go through a stressful day, I think to myself ‘Do I wanna end up back in the hospital, or do I want to be healthy and stay home?’ So, that’s what I think to myself every time I have a stressful situation. So, I think it did help open my eyes to know that everyone goes through a stressful situation or goes through something serious.”
