Winter sports begin

Boys Basketball

Head Varsity Coach Jacob Robidou has high expectations for this season.

“We have high hopes for the season. If we can reach our potential we have a chance to compete for a conference and district championship. We will have to work hard and improve every day, but this group is capable,” says Robidou.
The boys faced Dansville for their home opener on December 8th, they were able to get their first official win to start the season strong.
“I expect us to go far, this team has great chemistry,” senior Jake Sawicki said.


Varsity Cheer

The varsity competitive cheer team traveled to Grass Lake to compete against six other teams on December third. The girls worked hard and performed well. They were able to place third.
“We weren’t quite sure how we would do since it was our first competition, but I’m proud that we took third,” sophomore varsity cheerleader Alayna Adkins said.

 

 

 


Girls Basketball

The varsity girls basketball team went on Nov. 29th to Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy in Brighton for their first game of the season. The girls did well pulling away with a 52-14 win. The following day, they had a match-up against Dansville. The girls had a rough first half and ended up losing the game 38-49. The girls then went on the road on Dec. 3rd to Olivet College to face East Jackson. The Panthers kept up with the Trojans but weren’t able to pull ahead leading them to a 45-50 loss.

“It’s going to be tough this year with six girls, but I think we capable of pulling off a conference championship,” junior Taylor Lockhart said.
