The MLB Hall of Fame has many of the sports legends in it, but they are missing many of the ones that changed the sport.
Pete Rose always will have the record for the most hits in the MLB. But Rose will never see the hall of fame for gambling.
The most notable baseball’s greatest hitter of all-time will never get into the hall of fame because of doping. Doping is using performance enhancing drugs in a sport which is ultimately banned in every professional sport.
The era Barry Bonds played in what was known as the Steroid era. No players from this era have made the hall of fame. This era came with crazy results. Barry Bonds broke the legendary Aaron Hanks home run record with 76 and the great home run chase with Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa. This brought baseball back and every game had at least one homer. These players evolved the game to hit home runs and that caught young and older fans’ eyes.
Bonds, Sosa and McGuire are not the only players that aren’t allowed into the hall of fame.
Pete Rose, who has the most hits in MLB history was caught gambling on games. With the new tide of online sports betting they should let him in. He didn’t cheat, he was just trying to make more money. Michael Jordan allegedly caught gambling and he’s in the basketball hall of fame.
The latest sports player that was allegedly gambling is Shohei Ohtani and his Interpretor. What Shohei has done on the field makes him a first ballot hall of famer, but if he gets in now they should let Pete in.
Baseball has greats and they may have done stuff, but they made the game fun to watch. Barry Bonds is one of the greatest power hitters of all time and will never see the Hall of Fame because he did what everyone in that era of baseball did.
The MLB is making a mistake not letting the best players into the hall of fame. This would be like Tom Brady not making it in because of deflate gate and if Jim Harbaugh was banned for “cheating” in college football. Because of this, the MLB should totally just let them in.
Barry Bonds and Pete Rose changed baseball for the better. With them changing the game should earn them a spot in the hall of fame.
