Festival of Tables has been an annual event in the Stockbridge Community for 17 years. This year will be the second year they will be holding the auction virtually due to COVID-19. The Stockbridge Area Educational Foundation (SAEF) is a non-profit organization and their goal is to fund projects that help out the community. The Festival of Tables is an event they put on to help raise money for the grants and scholarships they give out.
“All the money we fundraise for is invested back into our community by directly supporting students, staff, administration and community members. SAEF awards over $30,000 in scholarships and grants annually,” Jennifer Hammerberg, the president of SAEF, said.
With the rising COVID-19 numbers as the event planning was happening, they decided it would be best to hold it online once again. Having the event online made more people attend and participate in the auction. They are hoping soon that they can bring back more and more of the in-person aspects to the event.
