The new school year has started and Stockbridge High School has warmly welcomed a plethora of new teachers. One of those new teachers being Nathaniel Rhoades. Mr. Rhoades is the algebra one teacher, teaching freshman, here at Stockbridge High School.
“I love the small town community vibe. That’s where I’ve been,” Rhoades said, “It’s almost like family oriented type.”
He took this position just the week before school started. Before working here he has worked at many different schools being a paraprofessional but this year he decided he wanted to become a classroom teacher. Prior to working here at Stockbridge he worked at Western and Jonesville schools. He graduated from Hastings High School and from Spring Arbor University. He says he is looking forward to this year.
“Building relationships with students in the classroom, but also like sporting events and stuff when I can actually go to those,” Rhoades said.
He also has goals for this school year like helping his students excel in math. Rhoades advises, “Don’t give up, its okay to fail as long as you keep going.”
