Rising gas prices in community affects student drivers
After the issues in Russia and Ukraine, gas prices have significantly increased, angering people. President Biden warned that his ban on Russian gas, oil, and coal would cause gas prices to increase, but some are still upset about the prices, even though they were warned it would happen. The real reason for the increase is supply and demand, not one specific person.
“I think everyone is pretty upset about rising gas prices, but I think people need to think about what is actually happening before they assign blame,” said junior Eden Phillips. Senior Aiden Howard agrees.
“My Tahoe has a 5.3l v8, it’s hard to pay for gas as it goes through a lot of gas each week. I go through a tank a week which is upwards of 80$ right now, it’s hard to pay for it,” Howard said.
