If you’re reading this, it’s great
The hype was real and “Nothing Was The Same” when Drake released his last album. Now with his new 17 song album “If you’re reading this it’s too late” hitting iTunes and Spotify, the rapper is gravitating from his traditional style of writing.
When Drake first came out, he was a young kid with a hit song about a girl, “Best I Ever Had.” As a young rapper he portrayed a heartbroken reputation on albums like “Take Care” and his last album “Nothing Was the Same.” Now, he has transformed like any of the great artists into a rapper who has changed the game with his cold flows and left his mark with his heart pounding beats, but it’s far from over for this still young artist.
Mad beats and fire lyrics pushed the album “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” to debut at number four on the Billboards Top 200 Albums. The new face Drake portrays his transformation in the game from the “Best I Ever had” to the best you ever had.
Drake, a.k.a. Drizzy, has moved away from the image of that heartbroken kid and into one of a young rapper from Toronto, Canada who made it by himself.
Looking at “Know Yourself” from “If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late” and “Marvin’s Room” on the “Take Care” album there is a clear difference. The heartbroken words of “Marvin’s Room” is anything but similar to the heavy bass of “Know Yourself.”
Highlight tracks like “10 Bands” and “Star67” prove the steady improvement the young star is making. Also, he looks more than promising for delivering good new music that has you feeling like you’re the one running through the six.
