The pressure of academic excellence can be too much for some students. Some will crumble under the pressure; others will rise. Junior Mason Gee-Montgomery has been one of those students who has risen to become not only the first in his class, but the best on football field as well.  “I need to keep my 4.0 in order to continue to get looks from Ivy League schools and MIT. But, diamonds are created under pressure, so I believe pressure can also be beneficial.”

The two-time state record holder and Division 5/6 player of the year has received interest from Penn and MIT.

Penn has an acceptance rate of 9.9 percent, followed by MIT at 7.9. The stresses of getting into these colleges can take an emotional toll on a student, yet Gee-Montgomery has continued to push through the academic pressures and prevail in ways some can only dream of.  “Yes I am under pressure,” Gee-Montgomery said. “I have received good grades my whole life and expect myself to at this point.”
