Keeping New Year’s resolutions

New Year’s resolution are often made each year, but they are never completed. Goals like saving money, fulfilling a new hobby, or even getting a better view on life are common resolutions. People start off with extravagant goals, but by the end of the season they are long gone.

One way to ensure that one can accomplish a year long commitment is simply by making a calendar. By scheduling everything from food to eat, new hobbies to try, and even looking at life differently each day, you will have a better chance of accomplishing yearlong commitments.

Here are six easy steps to making these happen:

Either purchase a calendar or make one with construction paper.

If you choose to create one, make sure you have all of your dates correct.

Using decorative pens, markers, stickers and glitter will make the calendar more appealing to the eye.

When scheduling your day-to-day plans, make sure goals are very realistic. Goals like saving the community in a week are completely unattainable.

Place the calendar in an area where you go every day and is easy to find, so you don’t forget to keep up with your resolution.

Every morning look at your calendar. You will have a better chance of accomplishing your New Year’s resolution.

Another way to keep your resolution in tact is by slowly rewarding yourself. Decorate a mason jar and each day, add a quarter after accomplishing your daily goal. By the end of the year you will have over $80.
