After the 2023-2024 school year, Stockbridge High School needed another math teacher. After searching for a replacement teacher, they found one in teacher and former engineer, Lisa Anderson. Anderson currently teaches Algebra I and II. She enjoys teaching and is excited to continue her fourth year of teaching here at Stockbridge.
“My favorite part of teaching is getting to know my students and helping them be successful. I also really enjoy finding new ways to make math engaging,” Anderson said.
Although Anderson mainly got into teaching to help kids learn and grow, she also has high goals and standards for her and her students.
“My goal is to help prepare students for the future. I believe that having choices is powerful and believe that high school math prepares students for many different career paths,” Anderson said.
Even though Anderson switched careers part way through her life, she still wants to give students the same opportunity to succeed.
“I myself changed careers after high school and want to give my students the foundation they need to succeed at any career they may choose,” Anderson said. “I also want students to become informed citizens and consumers. I believe that high school math helps develop those skills as well.”
