The players on the girls varsity teams had no idea what to expect this season with no seniors and a limited number of players. However, their record speaks for itself. Last season the girls varsity team started with five wins and four losses through the first nine games. This season, the girls also have five wins and four losses and four of those wins are in conference play, meaning they have zero Continuing to succeed this season with no seniors can only help them prepare for next season play to help develop as a team and playing against older competition.
“I think this year will help us be able to dominate this league next year. This season we’ve been playing against better competition which will help for next year,” Sophomore Varsity player Bella Pybus said. “I think we are keeping up well and will be the team to beat.
Before the season some players and fans didn’t know how well the team would be able to perform this year with the age gap compared to other schools. Although they are young the team has been able to get along well and succeed expectations.
“I think we are playing above expectations we are currently 4-0 in our conference, we are very bonded as a team and all get along fairly well,” Junior point guard Melina Sayre said.
