The Stockbridge marching band participated in senior night at the last home football game along with the cross country team and football team. Band seniors were invited to participate in the celebration, but it is not required that they do. Band members were recognized multiple times throughout the year, but band teacher Mrs. Pniewski felt that it was important to recognize their hard work at the football games as well.
“The seniors and their families appreciate the recognition and it’s appropriate since we are a part of the Friday night games,” Pniewski said.
The seniors this year included Bella Bickley, Ethan Bradley, Finn Coffman, Samantha Cowan, Grace Lackey, Lily Sager, and Zavien Torrey. Pniewski has been able to watch them grow throughout high school not only as musicians but individuals as well.
“I love their enthusiasm and I love to watch them grow up. It’s fun to see them mature from kids into young adults and watch their musicianship develop,” Pniewski said.
Bickley cherished the home games this year since there were very few.
“The limited home games were my favorite. We finally got our whole show down, and it looked really good and was really fun,” Bickley said.
