The Stockbridge Community Outreach is a non-profit organization where those in need can go all year round to grab clothes, accessories, toys, and they are even equipped with a fully stocked food pantry.
Stockbridge High School students, a part of the Journalism class and the National Honor Society, dedicated around 3 hours to see what being a volunteer is really like. At the Outreach, they were given the opportunity to sort through clothes, organize, etc.
At the Community Outreach anyone is able to volunteer with no age limit specified, although young children, 10 and under, may need a chaperone.
Gwen Reid, service program director of the organization, praises the community for being supportive in helping the Outreach become as successful as it is.
“I always think that this is an amazing community, because there’s so much giving here.” Reid said.
Reid continues to encourage those in the community to donate extras that they no longer need, to give those who cannot afford it an opportunity to enjoy the same things that they once did and to bring happiness and prosperity to a family.
