As a new year approaches Stockbridge, some art was made in the form of murals from students around the school. As students travel around the building, they could stumble upon a mural drawn by one of their peers. This adds a unique feeling of beauty and character to the building which gives it a better look from the inside.
“I hear students complain all the time about how the school looks like a prison so I think murals will help look less like a prison” Senior English and AP Literature teacher Rita Stricklin said.
Principal Jeff Trapp says that he can’t take credit for the added color.
“It really came from students saying ‘hey, we’d like to see more color,’” Trapp said. “Teachers were open to painting their own walls and adding color or even having students come in and put a mural in.”
So, expect to see new changes such as the new senior parking spots being painted as students, staff and administration come together to add personality to the school.
