School dance put on by students
“I didn’t go to the dance right after the football game because I thought it would be boring since we were told we were not allowed to dress up,” Isabella Hernandez said.
On November 5th, those in grades 9-12 had the opportunity to attend a semi-formal dance that was organized entirely by students.
Many students were disappointed with administrators after the decision was made that the Homecoming dance would occur directly after the football game. Seniors Adrianna Adkins and Grace Niec decided to take matters into their own hands and throw their own dance to make up for it.
“We decided to do it because we thought it would be fun,” Niec said. “Since it’s our senior year, we wanted to do something different.”
The Fall Formal was the first dance at Stockbridge in the past 30 years that was entirely organized by students. Adkins and Niec were very pleased with the turnout since they were worried about the attendance.
“At some points it was difficult and overwhelming since I was worried about the outcome,” Adkins said. “Overall, I was happy with the dance and surprised that a lot of people attended.”
