Juniors plan prom
Prom will take place on Saturday, May 6 on the Michigan Princess Riverboat in Lansing. It was planned by members of the junior class.
Planning for prom began right after homecoming. The chosen theme is “An Evening on the River” because of the setting.
Around five juniors have been involved in the planning of prom this year along with the junior class advisor, Nicole Whitt.
Surveys have been sent out to students to give planners a better idea of what students are interested in at prom.
The students who planned prom advise those who may plan it in the future to consider others opinions in their planning.
“Take into consideration what other students have to say,” junior class president Zane Whitt said.
Over 140 students have purchased tickets to prom so far and are looking forward to the dance.
“It’s pretty cool that I get to spend my last prom on a boat with my friends,” senior Devon Moser said.
Students are excited about the environment and the new possibilities that it will bring to prom.
“The sunset will be really pretty on the river and on the boat,” senior Adrianna Adkins said.
