In a watershed moment for comic book fans, “Aquaman”surfaced over a starring role in his own movie. Although a giant feud between fans whether or not Marvel or DC is better, “Aquaman” might be putting Marvel underwater.

According to Deadline News, the movie cost over $120 million to produce. On Rotten Tomatoes Aquaman comes in at 67 percent rating or 6 out of 10 rating, and an 80 percent from audience scoring. A pool of excitement that had me at the edge of my seat, I would give Aquaman an 8/10 rating.

“Aquaman is the king of all things aqua. He can breathe underwater, swim at tremendous speeds, and telepathically communicate with sea life. Being able to withstand ocean depths, he gets bonus points on land with his superhuman strength, enhanced senses, and nearly impenetrable skin,” DC comics says. That sounds like the perfect eye catcher.  

I expected Aquaman would be about this dreamy guy who gets what he wants and lures the girls to him. They would fall in love and live happily ever after. I was wrong.

The emotional rollercoaster brought me to both tears and laughter. An action-packed movie with fighting and tons of villains getting drowned in floods of water shooting out toward them. It wasn’t the best action and I didn’t feel like I was watching a superhero movie.

In the end, there was a good message about coming together with family and forgiveness. Aquaman and King Orma forgave each other for all the fighting and spite toward one another and went on to be a happy family.  

A tale of a little boy who grows up with his dad because his mom had to leave to protect them both. When the boy, Arthur, gets older he realizes he can control water and has extreme strength. He then has to go to save Atlantis. Overall, I think Aquaman came out to be a thrilling movie and I would recommend it to anyone who likes superheroes, ancient legends, or anyone who likes action with a hint of romance.
