The real obedience of the millennials

We wake up in the morning and attend school. The laughter in the halls drowns out the sounds of the social complaints of the millennial generation. Meanwhile, elders walk around their homes reminiscing about the past. They look outside and see kids at soccer practice and wish they had that type of energy again. In today’s world, we all judge one another for the decisions that we have made. Older generations have experienced terrible times, but what they do not realize is that we have not lived long enough to experience. We are just teenagers trying to live in an unaccepting world.

“Times are very different than they used to be,” Buhl Flowers an 82, year old from Walnut Ridge care home said. “Kids only play on their cell phones and smoke and drink. When I was young, I didn’t have one drink of liquor before I was 21. You couldn’t if you wanted to play sports. People didn’t plan these school shootings either. Kids need more guidance than just their teachers at school to succeed in life. This new generation is going to be a mess if they don’t get their act together and shape up.”

Our generation is the generation of helping. We may lack in manners and respect, but that is not what defines us. No other generation has thought to fight for gay rights or even fought for the anti-abortion movement. We are accepting to each other and our individual needs. You do not have a ride to where you want to go? Thanks to our generation, you can call and Uber who will pick you up and take you where ever for a small price. You want to travel around the US but you are on a budget? No worries. Our generation also created Airbnb which allows you to rent a room in a person’s house for a cheap price.

Past generations have nothing on us. We are going to do amazing things in the life time. As kids and teenagers, we went through the worst economic state since the Great Depression. This really takes a toll on a kid’s life. This is why our generation is so helpful and caring to others. We know how it is to go through tough times and are willing to give a helping hand. We care about others and care about our futures. We will not end up a mess like everybody says. We are the generation of misconceptions. We are the millennials.
